Proust's Questionnaire!
Journal Entry: Wed Oct 8, 2008, 2:06 PM
So we were filling out Proust's Questionnaire in French class, and I decided it would be fun to post this up here. Proust's Questionnaire, FYI, is a bit of a misnomer because Proust didn't write it, he filled it out. (And for those who don't know, Marcel Proust is a famous French author.)
Your main personality trait: Creativity/imagination/artistic inclinations
Your main flaw: Shyness
What you appreciate most about your friends: That they are loyal and interesting to talk to
Your favorite hobby: Reading, writing, drawing
Your dream: I have many. Being able to write a novel, traveling all over the world, knowing many languages, being happy all the time...
Your worst nightmare: At this moment, not being able to get into college.
Aside from yourself, who would you like to be?
My dad, maybe? He has all the qualities of personality that I don't have.
The country you would like to live in: Japan (though I heard it's better to visit, not live there) or anywhere in Western Europe, particularly France or Italy.
Your favorite color: Cerulean blue (standard question)
Your favorite flower: Peony, chrysanthemum, cherry blossom, or plum blossom. (I'm in too lazy of a mood to decide one.)
Your favorite bird: Uh...this one's hard...osprey, falcons or hawks in general, quetzals...hey, do mythical birds count? I'd say phoenix, then.
Favorite authors: Too many to list! Umm...to name a few, Jane Austen, Charlotte Bronte, Shakespeare for classics; David Clement-Davies for 21st century.
Favorite poets: I don't know? Maybe Robert Frost, John Keats, or William Butler Yeats?
Favorite heros/heroines in fiction: The ones I make up, probably.
Favorite heros/heroines in real life: ...my parents?
Favorite painter: I'll get back to you on that one... (I say I like art, but I have a terrible sense of art history)
Favorite names: Anything I use for my original characters. What? I need a real answer? Fine. Faustina, Raphael, Seraphine, Pascal, Perenelle, Augustine...
The thing you hate most: Depression. Bugs, especially mosquitoes. Bad literature.
Favorite food and drink: Sushi and green tea.
The natural gift you would like most [I translated that literally]: The ability to be social.
Your present state of mind: Either stressed or on vacation.
Edit: It's kind of funny when people on the internet try to write in French but they fail because...I guess they don't know French or something. The other day someone in a forum ended a sentence with "vous sais?", which means, "you know?", but the verb conjugation is incorrect. It should be "vous savez?" XD
- Mood:
Neutral - Drinking: Tea with thirteen lumps of sugar
